Portugal North Coast

As you walked around the Montemor-Velho castle grounds you could imagine what life would be like living inside this walled city. There was always someone wanting to attack and take over the castle and you relied on these walls and the men manning the ramparts to protect those living inside. Life was precarious in those days.
